    Fix it, or
    let it go?

    Answer four questions about your appliance. We'll show you what the repair typically runs, what a reconditioned unit off our floor costs, and what a new one costs — with the math, so you can see which one is actually cheaper per year.

      What's the rule of thumb for repair vs. replace?

      The classic version is the 50% rule: if the repair costs more than half of a replacement, replace it. That rule was written when "replacement" meant buying new. If a reconditioned machine with a warranty is on the table, the honest comparison is cost per year of service you're actually buying — which is what this tool calculates.

      Do you charge to diagnose the problem?

      There's a trip charge for the visit, and it's waived when you go ahead with the repair. Our technicians quote flat-rate before any work starts, so you know the number before you commit.

      What does "reconditioned" mean at Judy's?

      Every used machine on our floor is tested by our own technicians before it goes out — a washer runs a full cycle, a dryer gets its heating element and drum rollers checked. They may have cosmetic scratches or dings. Used appliances carry a 6-month parts and labor warranty; new appliances carry a full year.

      What happens to my old appliance?

      Ask us about hauling it off when we deliver. Metal appliances get recycled rather than landfilled, and it saves you a trip to the transfer station.

      Do you deliver outside Salem?

      We deliver throughout the mid-Willamette Valley from our Salem and Independence locations, and we regularly serve customers further out. Give us your ZIP and we'll tell you straight whether we can reach you.
